About Baba Chicken – authentic Punjabi restaurant in Edmonton since 1962

The Baba Chicken story began in 1962 when S. Himmat Singh — affectionately known as Baba Ji — started a small roadside food stall in Punjab. The legacy was carried forward by Mr. Kanwaljit Singh and his wife, who added beloved items like the famous Spinach Corn Roll, leading to the first official Baba's Restaurant in Model Town in 1991. Today, our 34 Street NW location brings that same family legacy to Edmonton — a full menu of authentic North Indian and Punjabi dishes, built around the original Baba's spice blends and generous, home-style portions.
